COLLEGE ROAD TRIP stars Martin Lawrence as Chicago cop James Porter, an overprotective father who wants to keep his college-bound daughter, Melanie (Raven-Symone), close to home. When the smart, assertive Melanie declares her intention to attend Georgetown instead of Northwestern, James insistently sets out with her on a cross-country car journey to Washington D.C., hoping to dissuade her along the way. En route, of course, plenty of hijinks ensue, including scenarios involving a precocious pig and, oddly enough, Donny Osmond, who turns up as an eeriely cheery dad also on a college-touring campaign.Choosing a college and striking out on one\'s own is an exciting time that requires a big adjustment by both child and parent, but few parents will have as much difficulty relinquishing control over their daughter\'s life as Chicago police chief James Porter (Martin Lawrence). The ultimate in loving but overprotective fathers, James wants his daughter Melanie (Raven-Symoné) to attend nearby Northwestern College, so when she\'s waitlisted and called for an interview at Georgetown in Washington, D.C., James gets more than a little nervous. Squashing her plans for a road trip to D.C. with her girlfriends, James insists on a father-daughter expedition which he envisions being full of reminiscing, heart-to-heart conversations, and a healthy dose of persuasive promotion of Northwestern. The car trip definitely doesn\'t turn out as planned--instead it’s a trip rife with strained silences and festering conflict in which the police vehicle rolls down a wooded embankment, Melanie\'s little brother (Eshaya Draper) and pet pig stow away in the back of the truck, and the Porters inexplicably keep running into a syrupy sweet father (Donny Osmond) and college-bound-daughter (Molly Ephraim) whose close relationship, clean-cut enthusiasm, and willingness to befriend and help the Porters is downright unsettling. Absurdly funny scenes include the family pig crashing and demolishing a fancy outdoor wedding; James\' party-loving mother (Arnetia Walker) scrambling to live up to her son\'s uptight image of her as a fragile, elderly woman; James breaking into a local sorority house and hiding under a bed in hopes of protecting Melanie\'s innocence, and James\' and Melanie\'s unexpected skydive into Washington, D.C., in order to keep Melanie\'s interview appointment at Georgetown. Salman Khan indulges in daredevilry for soft drink ad.
It is touted to be Salman Khan's new actioner after Dabangg. The star has indulged in the daredevil adventure sport of wing suit flying in a commercial of his new endorsement for a soft drink.
The ad was recently shot at a remote location in the mountainous terrains of New Zealand. It was filmed by an international crew helmed by action-adventure film maker Bob Gordon. Sallu has done the stunts himself.
Says a unit source, "The only way to reach the shooting locale was by a helicopter. There were five of them on the sets that feature in the ad as well."
The makers claim that it is the actor's biggest ad production keeping in mind the ad's Darr Ke Aage Jeet Hai campaign.
Adds the source, "The film has been mounted on a mega scale and the production budget exceeded over a million dollars."
The ad goes on air from February 25.

Bollywood's King Khan lifted up the spirits of IIPM students by hosting the IIPM`s annual international business and marketing quiz DARE 2011. His presence for more than enough to keep the spirits at high levels, but SRK added more color to the event by handling the quiz in his trademark style.
Apart from his funny one liners and jokes, Sharukh had a strong message to deliver. He insisted students not to be a part of corruption and make India a corruption free country.

2011 - the year of action films
Everyone from SRK, Salman, Aamir, Hrithik and Ajay Devgn are doing action films in 2011.
Shah Rukh Khan who has always been popular as the eternal romantic in Bollywood will be seen as an action hero or rather superhero in 2011. Both his releases in this year – Ra.One and Don 2 are action-packed entertainers. Aamir Khan might have done a Ghajini in between but he has always been more popular for his chocolate boy image. However even he has beefed up his body for the suspense-thriller to be directed by Reema Kagti. Salman Khan has reason enough to celebrate his topless appeal after the success of his actioners like Wanted and Dabangg which he will take forward with their sequels and films like Bodyguard .
So how come this sudden upsurge in action films in Bollywood in recent times? Action has always been a common genre in Hindi films but off late they have become very popular. While on one side we say that Hindi cinema is evolving with more sense and sensibility coming in storytelling, on the other hand masala entertainers and blatant hardcore action films are still a big hit amongst masses. So for every Taare Zameen Par , Aamir Khan attempts a Ghajini and Ajay Devgn alternates every Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji with Aakrosh . Even his comic legacy of Golmaal is spiced up with generous dose of action. In fact his next film with Rohit Shetty is a hardcore action film – the remake of South hit Singham starring Suriya.
South is a major inspiration when it comes to exaggeration in action. Their no-hold-barred stunt sequences, which till now seemed too overstated in Hindi films, are now common phenomena in Bollywood with remakes like Ghajini and Wanted making big money. That has made way for more South films and 2011 will see remakes of superhit south actioners like Singham, Bodyguard and Kick .
South films have always gone a step ahead whether in stunts or in SFX. The kind of action sequences that are choreographed for Rajinikanth's Robot is unmatchable and Bollywood is still making efforts to reach their standards. Shah Rukh Khan's Ra.One which has a suspiciously similar storyline like Rajinikanth's Robot also has the train action sequence similar to Robot for which apparently a two-kilometer chroma-screen was erected.
Also Shah Rukh has jumped down a 300 feet building in Don 2 and confessed that at his age it is physically taxing to do an as much demanding action film. Hrithik Roshan's road adventure flick Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara promises loads of thrills including Katrina's dirt-biking stunts, Abhay Deol's deep-sea diving and a bull-running match in Spain in the climax. Ajay Devgn's Singham and Salman Khan's Bodyguard will have raw action in the form of fist-fights and physical combats.
Priyadarshan's Tez starring Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn and Mohanlal is an action adventure film about a man holding a speeding train between London and Glasgow to ransom. While that may sound suspiciously similar to films like The Bullet Train and The Taking Of Pelham 123 , Priyadarshan claims that Tezz resembles more to Keanu Reeves' Speed . Abbas-Mustan's Players which is remake of the Hollywood hit The Italian Job is an action-packed heist thriller. Real life lovers Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor will fight each other in Agent Vinod where director Sriram Raghavan wants to revive the charm of Bollywood spy drama of 70s like Farz and Aankhen but in contemporary context.
So, for a change, take a break from the feel-good genre and get ready to kick some butt in 2011. Bollywood is back in action!

The rumours that suggested Amrita Rao was dating Shahid Kapoor can safely be put to rest.
Yes, Shahid has had Priyanka Chopra as his ladylove for quite long now but here's the other side of the story. Amrita has been in a long-distance relationship with an NRI from San Francisco.
Our source said, "Amrita was once in the news for being artist MF Hussain's muse. Later, Bollywood was always abuzz with rumours about Amrita dating different men but most of the rumours fell flat after a point of time.
But this time she seems to have finally found love. Amrita has been dating a certain Neil Kulkarni, an NRI orthopaedic surgeon based out of San Francisco."
In August, last year, the actress was in the midst of her Rajshri Production shoot for Love You Mr Kalakar in San Francisco.
She also participated in promoting a charity event there, during which she apparently met Neil.
They say, Amrita's aunt introduced the two and also told her that he would be the perfect guy for her. Kulkarni works for one of the top hospitals there. According to sources, he too was quite smitten by Amrita.
The source added, "Amrita has tried hard to keep her personal life under wraps. Though it is a long-distance relationship, both Amrita and Neil are trying their level best to keep the romance alive.
Neil made a trip to Mumbai to bring in the New Year with Amrita. But she did not allow the information to go out."
When contacted, Amrita Rao did not revert but her publicist said, "Career is all that's on Amrita's mind and she has no time for love.
