Doppelganger: SS501 Member & Utt

(fatfish) I recently went to view SS501's MV - U R Man. (wanted to check out claims that it's a viral ear-worm kind of song). The video is set in a glam-gangster environment (think Hong Kong or Japanese mafia), but I thought this particular SS501 member (sorry I don't know who!) looked particularly like MTV VJ Utt in the video. Greg Uttsada, of Thai descent, is pictured below. As for the song, I was intrigued by their interesting chord progressions, especially on the choruses. They actually shift the key up then down again about 3 times in one chorus, which is highly unorthodox (usually pop tunes only go up, they don't go down). Shifting up brings the song a higher feel in terms of notes and also excitement (if that's even the right word). So. It's an interesting tune!

Doppelganger: Nakashima Mika and Takashima Reiko

You think? Takashima Reiko acted as Yukino in Haikei Chichiue Sama as Ninomiya's mother, and is an actress from the older generation I feel really fond of! Mika Nakashima.... Nana.. needs no introduction I suppose?

I still don't know how to enable comments for each individual post, which sucks. Email me at myfirstgossipblog [at] gmail if you know how. Meanwhile, try out the Cbox at "gossipgranny". Chilling in Mumbai, can't wait to get home to Singapore. Lovelove!

Ayase Haruka in Ichi

(Source: Mainichi) Ayase Haruka (23) stars in the female-version of Zatoichi, "Ichi" as a blind fighter-woman. The official press conference for the completion of the movie was held yesterday, 15th July 2008, in downtown Tokyo. This project was Ayase's first experience acting in a period drama, and she commented that she enjoyed all the killing and fighting scenes, for which she had trained very hard for. The director also praised her reflexes and psycho-motor skills.

The movie will be released on 25th October 2008. The official site for the movie can be accessed here.

I think she looks terribly like Akanishi Jin here -- remember this post?

Maou and Code Blue face off this Summer [and Doppelganger: Kobayashi Ryoko, Shin Min Ah and Inoue Mao]

(Source: Idolgravure) The original title of this post is : Ikuta Toma to beat Yamapi in Summer-Dorama face off? But then personally I thought Ohno should have some credit to bear in this (being his first dorama and all :p ) In any case, OhToma's Maou has been scheduled to screen on TBS' Friday 10pm slot, whilst Yamapi's Code Blue is to air on Thursdays at 10pm on Fuji Channel. People have thus been saying that there'll be a fierce Johnny's face off between "Fri 10 X Thurs 10". (this sorta loses its oomph in translation: "金10vs木10")
Toma got his big break in Hanazakari no Kimi Tachi, but his recent Winter dorama , Hachimitsu to Clover averaged only a viewer's rating of 8.9%. Will Maou fare better?

Incidentally, I finally got down to finding out who was playing Shin Min Ah's character in Maou. This girl you see below on the left (Kobayashi Ryoko). I think she looks like a cross between Inoue Mao and Shin Min Ah (the Korean actress who played Kobayashi's role in the Korean version of Maou).

Inoue Mao and Shin Min Ah (below, respectively)
But maybe the photos aren't so nice. But I'm late for class!! AHH gotta zip off
